Current location/base: Self Employed Aviation Consultant working with EASA / IATA /HATCO.  SME in EBT/CBTA and MPL training.

Airline: Airbus Training Manager at CTC Aviation/L3Harris until May 2018
Previous airline: British Airways A320 Capt. and B777
Previous role/s (pre pilot training): Engineer with British Aerospace and also 3 years BA cabin crew experience
Uni degree? BEng(Hon) Mechanical Engineering
Airline training route:  Integrated  ATPL
ATO/s attended: Oxford on the BA scheme graduating in Oct 1992.


Why did you want to become a pilot?

A childhood dream and ambition. I love travel and also the amazing beauty of aircraft.


How did you fund your training?

BA funded

Was training a breeze or did you find it a challenge?

Everyone finds it a challenge. Those who say it’s easy are maybe not being totally honest.


What was most challenging?

The volume of study and pressure to perform with the obvious results if you don’t.


What do you enjoy most about your job?

Travel, adventure, being part of a brilliant
organisation. Leading a team of motivated like-minded individuals.


What is most challenging about your job?

Jet-Lag! Oh and unappreciative passengers.


Which Pilot Competencies are of most interest to you?

I train EBT and CBTA throughout the world, to airlines and ATOs. I also lead the IATA EBT task force. So, all of them…
