A theoretical breeze and a practical challenge! But a rewarding and never regretted move.
What was most challenging (and not anticipated, while transitioning to freelance)?
Taming the sudden professional “isolation and loneliness”.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Just about everything!
The satisfaction of helping Authorities, companies, peers or trainees achieve their goals or set targets is definitely a big driver.
Communicating, facing diversity, exploring human relations, anticipating and mitigating "threats", addressing the unexpected in total compliance, always learning and constantly self-improving are a few examples of my daily routines.
My passion for aviation, the pride of each successfully accomplished mission, inspired and motivated me to become a better professional, a better leader and a better person throughout the years.
What is most challenging about your job?
Always remaining a step ahead within an ever changing industry and regulatory environment.
Which Pilot Competencies are of most interest to you?
Communication, without a doubt.
Communication is not only the root of all Core Competencies, but also the only medium through which cognitive skills (NOTECHS, categories Situation Awareness, Decision Making and associated elements) may be assessed.
