Passions, Interests and Experience:

Aviation – Despite long stints away without a medical the goal has always been to be in the front of a plane. Wellbeing – physical and mental, in larger focus after long lockdowns during Covid. I have previously been a supervisory Pilot on the C441

Why did you want to become a pilot?

? I never grew out of a love for airplanes and spaceships as a kid. Although as I got older, I realised flying planes was a bit more realistic career choice.

Was training a breeze or did you find it a challenge?

? I enjoyed maths and science at school, so concepts were usually easy to grasp even if mastering them tended to take a bit longer

What was most challenging?

I was self-funded, so I think the hardest part was trying to balance work, study and lifestyle. Being an inefficient studier also compounded this problem. Having to stop training to earn more money also added time to complete my training

What do you enjoy most about your job?

It is very fulfilling. Completing aero-med missions in a remote and beautiful part of Australia. Also, the smooth conditions and lack of radio chatter on a midnight run are very enjoyable.

What is most challenging about your job?

? Back of the clock night circling into black hole stri

Pilot Competencies

? Aircraft flight path management – Manual control, Problem solving and decision making, Situational Awareness, Application of Procedures. While all the competencies are important these are the ones I would like to develop further.
